90th Anniversary Weekend
October 3 and 4 Anniversary Events
Join St. Francis of Assisi Parish for a special weekend of prayer, celebration, community, and thanksgiving as we mark 90 years of parish life in East Vancouver.
The weekend includes our annual Pet Blessing, anniversary Masses, family portraits, a ticketed garden dinner, silent auction, and Sunday parish lunch.

Saturday Garden Dinner
Our main anniversary celebration will take place after the 5:00 PM Mass on Saturday, October 3. Guests are invited to gather for charcuterie, a cash bar, a silent auction, and a buffet dinner shared indoors and outdoors.
Tickets are $90. The first 100 ticket purchasers will be entered into a raffle.
Saturday, October 3
A Day of Blessing, Celebration, and Community
Saturday will include family-friendly events during the day, Mass in the early evening, and our ticketed anniversary garden dinner following Mass.
10:00 AM — Pet Blessing in the Church Garden
Annual Pet Blessing
Families, parishioners, and neighbours are invited to bring their pets to the church garden for our annual Pet Blessing. This beloved St. Francis tradition is a joyful way to begin the anniversary weekend and honour our patron saint’s love for all creation.

3:00 PM to 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM — Inside the Church
Portraits at the Altar
Families and parishioners are invited to take anniversary portraits inside the church with Photo Franco. Each session is $25 and includes one 8x10 photo from the gallery and one digital file. Additional images may be purchased.

5:00 PM — Mass
Anniversary Mass and Teacher Blessing
Parishioners and guests are invited to gather for the Saturday evening Mass. A special Teacher Blessing will take place at the end of Mass as we give thanks for the role of Catholic education in our parish community.
6:30 PM to 11:00 PM — Ticketed Garden Dinner
Charcuterie, Silent Auction, and Buffet Dinner
Following Mass, guests with tickets are invited to begin the evening celebration with charcuterie, a cash bar, and time to visit the silent auction in the church hall. The evening continues with a buffet dinner shared indoors and outdoors.
This ticketed celebration is an opportunity to gather as a parish family, reconnect with friends, and celebrate 90 years of faith, service, and community at St. Francis of Assisi.

Silent auction listings will be shared on the website closer to the event so parishioners, families, and community members can participate.

Garden Dinner Tickets
Tickets for the Saturday evening garden dinner are $90 and include charcuterie, access to the silent auction, and buffet dinner. A cash bar will also be available.
Because space is limited, parishioners, families, alumni, and friends of St. Francis are encouraged to purchase tickets early.
Sunday, October 4
Feast Day Mass and Parish Gathering
On Sunday, we will continue the anniversary weekend with Feast Day Masses and a parish lunch in the church hall.
9:00 AM and 10:30 AM — Feast Day Masses
Feast Day Masses
Parishioners and guests are invited to attend Sunday Mass as we mark the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi and continue our 90th anniversary weekend.
The 10:30 AM Mass will include a procession.
11:30 AM — Church Hall
Parish Lunch
Following the 10:30 AM Mass, all are invited to gather for lunch in the church hall. This will be a warm opportunity to continue the celebration in fellowship and community.
